Walk Against Rape: Foundation Sensitizes Secondary School Students In Calabar

The need to speak out against rape in the society was again brought to the fore Thursday in Calabar as a non-governmental organization, the Brencare Foundation domesticated the Walk Against Rape campaign held annually in Lagos.
The foundation visited Heroes International School, where they sensitized students on rape issues and how to tackle the scourge.
The Executive Director, Brenda Effiom told students that the objective is to educate them on issues bordering on rape, skills on avoiding it and what to do when faced with such situations especially with the reported number of rape cases in secondary schools on the raise.
Several tutors from the foundation took turns to share experiences and tips on how to prevent rape as well as supporting rape victims to speak out against the perpetrators in a bid to end the scourge.
As a form of confidence building task to lend their voices to the campaign as well as being advocates for others, the students wrote down several anti-rape messages on placards and recited them repeatedly.
